Support Services

Since 2004, WHA has been a member of and directed the activities of the Community Support Advisory Council-West (CSAC-West), a collaborative partnership of 78 agencies on the Westside of Chicago who work together to provide for the all of the employment, supportive services and other needs of the formerly incarcerated. By working closely, CSAC-West network partner agencies secure public safety, lower recidivism rates, strengthen communities and assist returning citizens with a successful and sustained re-entry back into society.

Onsite & referral supportive services provided by Westside Health Authority and CSAC-West partner agencies include: 

  •       Case Management Intake Assessment
  •       ID Replacement
  •       Assistance With Obtaining Social Security Card
  •       Birth Certificate Assistance (if born in Chicago or Cook County only)
  •       Clothing Assistance Referrals
  •       Hygiene Kits (when available)
  •       Free Haircuts (Thursdays 2:00- 4:00 PM)
  •       Assistance With Furniture From Chicago Furniture Bank
  •       Counseling Service Referrals To Bobbie E. Wright Behavioral Health Center
  •       Assistance With Legal Services Through Legal Aid Chicago
  •       GED Certification Classes Through Malcolm X College
  •       Overcomer’s Group Meetings (Thursdays 2:00 – 4:00 PM)
  •       Assistance with SNAP benefits
  •       Housing Assistance
  •       Food Pantry Referrals
  •       Healthcare, Dental & Vision Care Referrals
